For the last ten years, our annual native plant sales have been very successful and have funded many of the programs and activities of our society.
We will not hold our annual spring native plant sale this year because our plant sources are affected by the drought.
1.We do not feel right asking for nursery donations this year.
2.We did not have plant rescues between June 2007 and February 2008.
3.We anticipate a greatly reduced number of plants from our members because of the watering conditions last fall.
The severe drought has taken its toll on the green industry, and many nurseries and related business are struggling this year. The 2007 nursery donor list has all the nurseries that support our sales. Many of the nurseries have been with us since the beginning, and we encourage you to visit these nurseries for all your gardening needs this year. They've supported us, so let's support them!
We will sell some plants at our meetings, and we hope to be back in the plant sale business next year!
