A "new and improved" version of Wildflowers of the Southeastern United States, although having more species covered, including many more species of grasses, the format is somewhat awkward. The text descriptions are all in the front portion of the book, followed by all of the photos. The introduction still includes the needed diagrams, text and glossary that its predecessor contains, along with the metric ruler in the inside cover. The plant information has been updated where needed and contains the same types of information as Wildflowers of the Southeastern United States.
