Georgia Native Plant Society
NOMINATE 2014 PLANT OF THE YEAR

Nominations for the Georgia Native Plant Society 2014 Plant of the Year are now open until October 15th.

Any GNPS member may nominate one plant which is native to Georgia by filling out the form below or by sending nomination (botanical name, common name and why this plant deserves to be plant-of-the-year) to at gnpspoy@gnps.org.

The purpose of the GNPS Plant of the Year program is to recognize native plants in the landscape which benefit our wildlife and ecology. GNPS should continue to highlight native plants that are under utilized in commercial and domestic landscapes or which are vital components of our Georgia ecology. We are looking beyond beauty, even though we acknowledge that this is often what draws us to a special native plant in the first place.

Visit the Plant of the Year page to learn more about past winners.

Previous years' nominated plants that did not win are not carried over as nominees for 2014 but these plants can be re-nominated.

After October 15th, all candidate plants and their pictures will be posted on the GNPS website. After you have submitted the nomination form below, you will have the opportunity to upload a digital picture of the plant, if you have one, for possible inclusion on the website.
